ANGIE FINDEISEN
Trainer and Owner
Angie Findeisen, owner and head trainer of AF Training & Sales, began riding at the age of seven in Alameda, California. She built a strong foundation competing on the USEF A-circuit in the Junior Hunter, Equitation, and Jumper divisions, developing an extensive performance record with the United States Equestrian Federation. Throughout her career, Angie has had the opportunity to train under some of the industry’s most respected professionals, experiences that continue to shape her thoughtful, horse-first training philosophy.
Since founding AF Training & Sales in 2018, Angie has earned a reputation for producing confident, willing, and athletic horses across a wide range of disciplines. She specializes in starting young horses, restarting off-the-track Thoroughbreds, and developing hunters, jumpers, and sport horses from the earliest stages of training through advanced performance careers. Her individualized approach recognizes that no two horses learn the same, allowing each horse to progress confidently while building a solid foundation for long-term success.
As a former exercise rider and colt starter for a Thoroughbred racing stable, Angie possesses a unique understanding of how racehorses are conditioned and how to successfully transition them into second careers. Her proven retraining program has successfully restarted and rehomed more than 30 off-the-track Thoroughbreds, with an emphasis on patience, sound horsemanship, and the long-term physical and mental well-being of each horse.
Colt starting is one of Angie’s greatest passions and areas of expertise. Her systematic training program focuses on creating confident, responsive, and safe young horses through correct fundamentals rather than shortcuts. Horses started through her program have gone on to excel in a variety of disciplines, including hunters, jumpers, barrel racing, roping, trail, and pleasure riding.
Whether working with a young prospect, a performance horse, or a rider pursuing competitive goals, Angie is committed to developing horses and horse-and-rider partnerships with integrity, consistency, and attention to detail. Her training philosophy combines classical horsemanship with practical experience, producing horses that are not only successful in competition but dependable partners for years to come.
